The Lodge is excited to announce our partnership with Morningstar in Brunswick.
Residents, staff and volunteers welcomed the kids of Morningstar Children & Family Services of Brunswick to The Lodge on June 16 to kick off the Pen Pals and More Partnership between these two faith-based Communities.
Steve Hein, the Director of The Ball Raptor Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University and a friend of The Lodge, provided a showing of the many animals and birds of The Raptor Center for the kids and the Residents to enjoy.
Our own, Mr. Bill Barnes, then presented the keys to a Golf Cart that he donated to Morningstar and our own Jordan Scott (Deborah’s grandson, pictured) completed the event with a presentation of his original artwork that has become the signature of our Partnership with the Kids.
To follow up on the June kickoff, some of our residents traveled to visit with the kids in August at Morningstar in Brunswick. As a part of this adventure, the residents delivered school supplies that were collected for the children just in time for the beginning of a new school year.
The Lodge is hoping to continue a giving relationship with the children at Morningstar. We ask you to consider joining us by sponsoring a child at the school. The cost of sponsorship for one child to have the basic necessity of two school uniforms for a school year is $200/child. It is another opportunity for us to meet our “call to serve” confirming that “we live better, together.”
If you are interested in sponsoring a child or making a contribution to the sponsorship of a child for this purpose, please contact us.
